Mr.
B.N.Kalyani is Chairman of the Rs. 2500 crore, pune based Kalyani
Group. Born on 7th January, 1949, Mr. Kalyani is a Mechanical
engineer from the Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani, Rajasthan.
He also has an M.S. from the Messachusetts Institute of Technology,
USA.
The Kalyani Group is engaged in
following businesses:
- Manufacture of Automotive Components
- Manufacture of Speciality
steel
- Infrastructure, Roads, Townships
- Consumer Electronics
The Kalyani Group has Joint Ventures
with World leaders which include Meritor Automotive, USA;
Carpenter Technology Corporation, USA; Hayes Lemmerz, USA/Germany;
Robert Bosch, Germany; and Sharp Corporation, Japan. In addition,
group companies have technical collaborations with several
of the leading companies in the world.
Mr. Kalyani is the past chairman
of the Western Region of CII. Besides he headed the Maharashtra
Committee of CII and is a past chairman of the International
Trade Panel. Currently he is member of the CII National Council.
Mr. Kalyani is associated with
several other institutions. He is founding chairman of the
Governing Board of the Indian Institute of Management, Indore;
Member of the executive committee of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, Pune; Member, Executive Committee, India Education
Initiative; Chairman, Pratham Pune Education Foundation; and
past chairman of American Society of Metals, Pune Chapter.
Widely traveled, Mr. Kalyani is
also a member of the World Economic Forum, Switzerland.
Mr. Kalyani's contributions to
industry have been recognized through awards that he has received
from FIE Foundation in 1991. Mr. Kalyani is recipient of the
Prestigious National Press Award, 1995.
